Thank you all for the wonderful PYO Blueberry season! Our blueberry fields are officially closed but you can still come pick beans daily from 10am-2pm. There are 3 varieties of beans to pick- Provider, Wax, and Royal Burgundy. Beans are just $1 per pound for PYO! We plan to open the orchard for PYO apples Labor Day Weekend. Stay tuned for more details!
We have a great selection of fresh produce this week! Napa cabbage, summer squash, sweet corn, and zucchini are available for the first time this season. There is still an ample supply of fresh greens, carrots, kohlrabi, fresh herbs, turnips, broccoli, green beans, and more. We are also offering potted herbs for your home garden- varieties available include sage, oregano, dill, and more.
Apple season is here! Our first apples were picked last week! Lodi apples were the first to harvest. They are very tart and are a terrific sauce or fresh salad apple. Vista Belles come right after Lodi and are usually followed by William's Pride and Jersey Mac. Vista Belles are white fleshed apples offering tart flavor with hints of berries and a crisp crunch. William's Pride are sweet, spicy and crisp- a favorite early apple for fresh eating and pies. The Jersey Mac is an early McIntosh type, tart and tender. All of these are now available fresh in the farmstand! We offer samples of our apples so you can decide what you like the best! Come on up and taste what August has to offer!
The farmstand is packed with homemade treats including pies, breads, cookies, whoopie pies and more! We carry Durgin Dairy Raw Milk and Yogurt, Casco Bay Butter, Harmony Farm Cheese, Above the Dam Peanut Butter, Cabot Cheese, and many more products from local farms in Maine! Don't forget to check out our book collection, specialty foods, clothing and more that make great gifts to take home for you or the house sitter!
