We wish you all a happy Fourth of July! There are lots of exciting things to do in Maine this holiday weekend- from community picnics to parades to fireworks. Our farmstand is open from 9am-6pm on the Fourth! We have a great selection of farm fresh foods for your picnic or barbeque. We plan on opening our strawberry fields for PYO on the Fourth from 10am-2pm OR until berries are picked out. Come on up and pick your own fresh berries this holiday weekend! Please call ahead for field conditions and to conform picking- (207) 647-9419. For a complete list of celebrations by town check this list out! Have a safe and happy celebration!
Fresh from the field this week we have our first harvest of beet greens and garlic scapes. Radishes are in abundant supply and available in several varieties. Greens are available on a limited basis. Strawberries will be available as harvesting allows. Please call ahead if you are coming for something in particular. We would be happy to let you know what is fresh and available that day.
Our bakers plan to have an abundance of fresh bread at the farmstand this week. New to our bread selection is a homemade white sandwich bread. Toast this bread and top with Casco Bay Butter and Pietree jelly or make a PB&J with Above The Dam Peanut Butter- it is truly an old fashioned treat! Other bread selections include cinnamon raisin, rosemary focaccia, honey wheat, and 7-grain. All of our breads freeze beautifully so pick up extra to have through out the week.
Don't forget the sweets! We made a delicious maple biscotti with our own maple syrup- pair with a fresh cup of Seacoast coffee for a well deserved break. Fresh cookies including chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin are on the shelves. Our own pies, made in house with our fruit, are available in a range of flavors from apple to strawberry rhubarb. We hope to see you soon!
