All fairies and elves are invited to the annual Fairy & Elf Tea Party this Saturday, July 12th from 11am-3pm outside the farmstand. Wear your wings and come experience the magic fairies and elves bring to the orchard. Enjoy family friendly activities, fairy tea treats and elven delicacies; for event listing click here.
Fresh from the field this week we have plenty of lettuce, broccoli, kale and napa cabbage. In limited supply we have both shelling and sugar snap peas. We look forward to harvesting chard and more peas as they ripen in the fields.
Fresh produce is changing daily – call the farmstand (207) 647-9419 or check us out at the Wednesday DiCocoa’s Bethel Farmers’ Market or Saturday Bridgton Farmers’ Market.
We love our wood-fired brick oven! We don’t just make pizza in its magical dome. Using wood from our maple sugar bush and orchard, we build the fires to make many artisan breads. The bread selection changes daily and every week we stock the shelves with a favorite.
This week we made Old-Fashioned White Sandwich Bread. This is a classic soft sandwich bread with a chewy, melt-in-your-mouth crumb. The bread is delicious all by itself or sliced and stuffed with your favorite sandwich fillings.
For those with a sweet tooth we have scrumptious Cherry Chocolate Chunk Cookies. These buttery treats are loaded with chunks of dark chocolate and bits of dried cherries. The flavor combination is sure to satisfy your craving.
Every Wednesday we are receiving fresh, raw milk from Durgin Dairy of Norway, Maine. We carry both gallons and quarts, make sure to stop in a grab yours soon! These have a short (7-day) shelf life and often fly out the door before the end of the weekend.
Strawberry season is short and sweet. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did! We are using up the last of our strawberries now in the kitchen to make delicious jams and as a sweet addition to our summer granola!
Blueberry season is just around the corner! The berries are growing fatter and bluer by the day. Soon we will have pints available in the farmstand. We anticipate opening the blueberry fields for pick-your-own by mid to late July. We look forward to harvesting and enjoying frosty, sweet blueberries in the next few weeks!
We look forward to seeing you here at Pietree and at the Farmers’ Markets we serve!
