This weekend we meet the Autumn Equinox and officially begin fall! Here at Pietree that means the wood-fired pizza oven is turning out lunchtime pizzas apace, the cider donuts are hot and sweetly delicious, and our first pressing of cider will be made.
Because we care about safe and loving community, we are honored to welcome REACH (soon to be SAPARS) to Pietree this weekend. They will be sharing information on relational safety and healing after trauma. This weekend is the start of a raffle to benefit REACH featuring two handwoven rugs made with recycled cotton flannel and some Pietree gift baskets. The raffle will conclude at REACH’s annual meeting November 18th.
Pick-your-own apples continues daily, weather permitting, from 10am-4pm. Weekend wagon rides are also weather dependent. Do call ahead to check picking conditions (weather is extremely variable here in western Maine) and to make sure that we are picking your favorite apple varieties. This weekend we are picking MacIntosh and Cortland apples.
There are many other varieties of apples available in our farmstand, including HoneyCrisp and GingerGold, along with the sweet conclusion of this year’s peach crop, beautiful autumn vegetables including winter squashes, and our own farm-grown mums, ornamental gourds, and corn for autumn decorating.
