Wow! What a great time we had with all of you Maine Maple Sunday! It was our first year participating and we were overjoyed with the response from the community. We hope you all had a sweet time celebrating Maine Maple Sunday at Pietree Orchard’s farmstand.
John Tercyak was amazing! He entertained people of all ages with the fiddle, guitar, and vocals. People were singing along and swinging their feet as John entertained with music ranging from Irish to folk, and kids’ tunes to originals. John truly made the day a little sweeter with his sweet tunes in the farmstand.
Sweet treats were enjoyed by all during the celebration! We kept the maple glazed cider donuts and homemade hot cocoa going all day to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. We are happy so many were able to enjoy our famous donuts, made a little sweeter with our maple syrup!
We had a blast baking with maple syrup instead of sugar and are pleased with how much you all enjoyed the treats. The favorites seemed to be the maple oat bread, the maple glazed butter cookies, and the pumpkin maple whoopie pies! They went fast! We are already dreaming of more sweet maple treats for next year’s celebration.
The sugar crew enjoyed meeting all of you and seeing how much you all appreciate the work they do! Lots of conversation was sparked over the displays of the sugar bush and sugar house. It was rewarding to have all of you interested in what we have been up to this winter!
Thank you all for joining us to celebrate our first Maine Maple Sunday! You all made our day a huge success! We had a blast celebrating with you and look forward to seeing all of you this season!
