His style ranges from Irish to folk, kid tunes to jazz standards, and more. He is performing live inside Pietree’s warm farmstand from 10am-3pm. Come enjoy homemade cocoa and maple glazed cider donuts as John charms you with some fine fiddling at Pietree Orchard this Maine Maple Sunday.
Those who want to take something home with them will have many sweet options ranging from maple oat bread to maple glazed scones, maple roasted almonds to maple peanut butter buckeye candy, and more, available for sale in the farmstand opening Maine Maple Sunday at 10am.
The cooks at Pietree have a lot of fun baking with maple syrup instead of sugar, “I had a good time substituting maple syrup for sugar because it is a more local product and a more natural sweetener for our bodies…plus it comes from maple trees, which is wonderfully mysterious and fabulous” shares Alanna Doughty, Pietree’s Farmstand Manager and lead chef for Maine Maple Sunday. Alanna will be serving up the treats and looks forward to sharing all the fun with you, including her recommendations for baking with maple syrup at home.
