When customers visit our farm stand at the Bridgton Farmersʼ Market, the food items displayed are ready for purchase, home preparation, and eating. To get our wonderful products to the Market requires a lot of planning and hard work. Planning begins as early as December, when our farm managers decide what to plant and how much to plant. Planting and harvesting schedules are determined, as well as labor requirements. Harvesting is the great part of farming. Finally we have the rewards of months of planning and labor.
The greens are hand cleaned and then dried in small amounts before they are put into bags. This process can take several hours. The bags of greens are gently taken out of the packing tubs and merchandised in baskets. During hot weather they will be placed on ice.
The greens and all of our other products are attractively displayed and are ready for our customers to purchase. This process is repeated again and again for all of our products that we bring to the Bridgton Farmersʼ Market. We want nothing but the best and freshest produce for our customers.
